Upcoming Prince Events: A Purple Pulse Preview

Our Purple–esque guide to the Purple reign is about to sweep NYC and Long Island (Nov ’25–Apr ’26).

Darling, clear a spot on your dance card – Prince’s legend is about to electrify the Empire State! Purple Pulse – The heartbeat of Musicology Long Island – has uncovered a bevy of tributes and shindigs to keep every funk fan busy through spring. First up, the hip Groove club in Manhattan will host The Music of Prince ft. The Black Soul Experience on Nov 26 and again on Dec 28, 2025 at 7:00 PM. Imagine a packed house in gritty Greenwich Village, deep purple lighting, and an 8-piece band blasting “Kiss,” “1999” and all the hits. (It’s all on the Groove schedule, so tie your laces – you’ll hear Paisley Park magic live.)

Upstate New York doesn’t get left out of the Purple parade. Marshall Charloff’s Purple XPerience – lauded as the world’s top Prince tribute – will roll through upstate venues just before Thanksgiving. Mark Nov 21 for Cohoes Music Hall and Nov 22 for the Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center in Chester. Both shows promise faithful renditions of “Purple Rain,” “Little Red Corvette” and beyond, all performed with superstar chops. And yes, Prince’s music is so ubiquitous that even a one-man show (“Purple Piano”) tours with Charloff – an intimate solo-keyboards tribute that’s not to be missed if dates pop up near here.

Long Island proper isn’t slacking. The Purple XPerience books one date in the East: Jan 30, 2026 (Friday) at a Riverhead venue (details TBA) . That’s practically a mini-legends’ party on the North Fork! We’ll be watching for ticket info, but you can bet this night will be awash in Paisley patterns and dance-floor delirium.

Meanwhile, in a twist worthy of Minneapolis, the tribute scene is getting a mash-up. On Dec 27, 2025, hit the Chelsea nightlife for prince/bowie at Racket NYC – a glam-rock fusion gig that slams Bowie’s riffs and Prince’s grooves into one wild show. Expect strobe lights, makeup, and a real out-of-this-world vibe. (It’s a one-night-only afterparty style gig – you snooze, you’ll miss a purple comet.)

In short: from glittering club shows to provincial theaters, “Prince parties” are on the bill all winter. No low-key lounge accoutrement here, darling – it’s 100% full-volume funk. Put Purple Pulse at the wheel as we navigate these neon-lit Prince festivities. We’re the ones in the know – yes, even Prince’s estate isn’t throwing a local bash, but here’s the hot list of everyplace else where you can dance like it’s 1999 in NY this fall and winter Break out the purple raincoats and peacock blazers – it’s gonna be a Purple Reign.
